With a revamped interior decoration, an exceptionally fine selection of wines by the glass, a trolley of mature cheeses from Van Tricht and a vegetable garden supplying the herbs and flavoursome vegetables in season, you somehow know already that you are in for a treat. Rachel and her son Valentin have mastered a style of cooking where freshness and flavour dominate the dishes. This comes through in the pissaladière of sardines in escabeche, tomato compote with basil and pesto, or the cannelloni of parmesan, mini confit tomatoes, gazpacho and basil ice cream. A very well constructed wine list allows you to pick the pairing for your meal, unless you prefer to stick to the judicious advice of the master of vintages, Claude Rameau who was our "Sommelier of the Year" in 2020. A well-deserved extra half point.
