In the capable hands of Louis Scholtes, La Perle Noire has established itself as the chic new venue for a night out on the town. This intimate bar, with only about thirty seats, has gone for the elegant vibe: soft lighting, plush velvet, and a hushed atmosphere. Everything revolves around cocktails: Ayrton Mongenie innovates with his house recipes, such as the Naked and Famous, the Apérol making the mezcal blush, and revisits classics such as the Bloody Mary, renamed Rouge, where pepper and raspberry add further depth to the tomato. A speakeasy where they know their stuff is a highly-deserving Bar of the Year winner.
